Rats social requirements are SO important. Rats are VERY social animals, they need socialization with people as well as other rats!! They will come to crave & desire attention from their humans so make sure you have time to spend with them.

Rats MUST be purchased in same sex pairings (or more) unless existing rats of the same sex are already in the home. Rats flourish with companions and do not do well without. Many people find that 3 is better than 2 because when one passes the other will still have a buddy.
